Here are some major locations where you can have free access to internet:

Mc Donald – With free Wi-Fi at participating restaurants across Canada, customers can access the Internet using their laptops or PDAs at no charge. So grab a McDonald’s Premium Roast coffee and log on … it’s just one more thing to love about McDonald’s.

Starbucks – Effective July 1, 2010, Starbucks is offering free WiFi access to all of Canada with no time limits.

Second Cup
– 2 hours free – Just need to open a free account at http://www.secondcup.com/eng/index.php or unlimited access if you are a Rogers / Fido client.

Bridgehead – free all the time – no need to open an account… http://www.bridgehead.ca/
